Lora "Gail" Hewitt age 80 passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 3:05 p.m. at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
She was born on April 4, 1943, on Dover Hill in Martin County to Marion and Virginia (Gee) Sipes. Gail married James "Jim" Hewitt on February 1, 1964, in Bedford and he survives.
Gail worked in retail and previously at Fit for Life in Bedford she was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her husband, James "Jim" Hewitt of Bedford, and two children, Troy Hewitt of Bedford and Christy (Greg) Laturno of Reston, Virginia, four grandchildren, Brannigan Hewitt, Schylar Pritchett, Landon Hewitt, and Tessa Laturno, two great-grandchildren, Kellen Floyd and Vance Pritchett, four sisters, Margaret Baker of Mitchell, Sue Sipes of Bedford, Wanda Payne of Bedford and Dayle Middleton of Omaha, Nebraska, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Larry Sipes.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, with Brother Tim Day, officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from Noon until service time at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cresthaven Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
