Albert Calvin Heihel, 79, of 711 Textile Ave., Clearfield, died in the Clearfield Hospital Wednesday evening following a prolonged illness.
A retired employe of the New York Central Railroad Co., Mr. Heichel was born at Oak Hill, Karthaus Township, Feb. 17, 1882, a son of the late George and Elizabeth (Shaffer) Heichel. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Mr. Heichel was married to the former Annie J. Tripney who survives along with the following children:
Gordan E. Heichel, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Jacobs, Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Elbell and Assistant Police Chief Blair E. Heichel, all of Clearfield., Wilford M. Heichel, Sandy Ridge; Mrs. Robert (Eva) Paup, York, and Mrs. James (Helen) Tenon, Curwensville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held from the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. E. Roy Hauser D.D. officiating. Burial will be int he Oak Hill Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today; Friday afternoon and eveing and until the hour of service Saturday.
