Alan D. Flake, 73, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on April 17, 2023 at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Middletown.
He was born September 27, 1949 in Harrisburg and was the loving son of the late Betty and Dale Flake.
He was a 1967 graduate of Middletown Area High School.
Alan was a proud Navy Vietnam Era veteran and Plank Owner of the USS Mt. Hood. He retired with 30 years of service from Bethlehem Steel.
He raised Champion Red Bone Coonhounds and had a soft spot for any kind of floppy eared, tail waggin' hound.
Alan liked motorcycles and watching old science fiction shows on Comet TV such as Star Trek. He was also an avid coin collector. His greatest love was his family.
He is survived by his son John Flake of Middletown; brother, Bob Flake (Bonnie) of Boiling Springs; former spouse and friend, Stacey Marlow.
A tribute to Alan's life will be held on Monday, April 24, at 12:30 PM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA. There will be a visitation from 11:30 AM until the time of service.
Burial will be at Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Alan's name to Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc. 7790 Grayson Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17111.
