w/o William Wright, married 5 May 1951
Excerpt from obituary Published by Boston Globe from Aug. 1 to Aug. 2, 2021:
Natalie Berg Wright passed away peacefully on July 29, 2021, 95 years after her birth on December 7, 1925. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Wright; and brothers, Edward Berg and Ralph Berg. She is survived by her five children and too many grandchildren and great-grandchildren to enumerate.
Natalie was a proud graduate of the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School where she became proficient in the lost art of short-hand and bookkeeping, skills that led to her to a meeting and then marriage with a CPA from Haskins & Sells in 1951, until his passing 68 years later in 2019. Natalie and Bill never told their children 'how it should be done', they simply showed them by setting a best in class example.
Natalie's introduction to and experience with motherhood began with the birth of twins, and it was a role that she both cherished and in which she flourished until her final breaths on this earth. At one time, she was managing five children under the age of six while her husband Bill's work frequently took him out-of-town on audits. Today we wonder how she managed to hold it all together, but she did and quite well.
For decades, Natalie kept the books for her brother Ralph's lumber business along with managing the family's finances. She was proud to recount the story of her CPA husband's inability to balance the family checkbook and in spite of his considerable expertise, when it came to the family's money matters, Bill learned to ask Natalie what they could afford to do.
Residing initially in Reading, MA and after lengthy residences in Wellesley, MA and Bexley, OH, Natalie and Bill spent their final years at North Hill in Needham where they were both active members of the community and the Wellesley Village Church United Church of Christ. She was a world class mother to the end. Arrangements for services will be deferred until this Fall.
