W. D. McComas was born May 15, 1856 and departed this life on Jan 4, 1929, age 72 years, 7 months and 19 days. He was married Feb 4, 1888 to Isabelle Adkins, and to this union eight childen, five boys and three girls, were born, as follows: Wirt McComas, of Omar, W.Va.; Frank, Claude and Kessel McComas, of Fez W.Va.: Rome McComas, of Three Forks,W.Va.; Mrs E. L. Adkins, of Sias, W.Va.; Mrs L. L. Blankenship, of Latrobe, W.Va., and Mrs Ezra Vickers, of Three Forks, W.Va., all of whom are living.
He is survied by two brothers, Chas. McComas, of Hamlin, and Green McComas, of Clothier, W.Va.
He was converted about 34 years ago and united with the Missionary Baptist Church, of Fez, where he held his membership at death. He was a great church worker and the community will lose a most excellent citizen, but his passsin is Heaven's gain.
The funeral services were conducted at the Bethel Baptist church by the Revs. J. H. Sperry, W. T. Black and Ebb Cummings, after which his remains were conveyed to the Golsberry cemetery for burial.
