Gerald (Gary) Hartley passed away on April 14th at his home after an extended illness. He was born December 26, 1938, son of Gerald E. and Edith Hartley.
Gary graduated from Yorktown High School in 1957. After graduation Gary served three years in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Ball State University Police Officer, in 1970 he joined the City of Muncie Police Department, retiring in 1993. Gary spent twelve years as City Court Bailiff for Linda Ralu Wolf.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pamela Hartley; son, Gary D. Hartley; daughter, Cyndi Girdler; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Hartley; grandson, Jason Smiley; siblings, Doug Hartley, Kathy Ross and Marsha Brown.
