Married Alvin Taylor Wiggins on 1 Mar 1947 in Wake Forest, Wake, North Carolina, United States

February 5, 1927 ~ September 28, 2023 (age 96)

Bertie Wall Wiggins, of Rolesville, left this earth peacefully, Thursday evening, Sept. 28th, on the same family farm land as where she was born, 96 years earlier.

Bertie loved her family dearly. She was the caring mother to 3 sons, Taylor (Malinda), Jimmy (Jill), and Bryant (Heather). She was "Memommy" to 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bertie was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, as well as, her brothers, Chester and James, and sister, Bessie. Bertie was also preceded, and the proud daughter of, Sam and Bessie Wall.

Bertie graduated from Rolesville High School in 1945. Years later, she was the Cafeteria Manager at Rolesville Elementary School. Bertie also supported, and worked alongside Alvin and her sons, in their family business for over 50 years.

Since her husband Alvin's death, over 40 years ago, Bertie was the strong, yet gentle, matriarch of the entire family. She loved spending time with her family, especially the children. All the kids thought Memommy "was the best"! All have fond memories of time spent with Memommy. Bertie also loved sports. She supported all her family kids, as they grew up "playing ball".

There will be a celebration of Bertie's wonderful life at Rolesville Baptist Church, Monday, Oct. 2nd. Visitation will be in the Fellowship Hall of the church at 12:00, followed by her funeral service at 2:00 in the church sanctuary. Respectfully, a private family entombment will follow at Rolesville Cemetery.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation for all the love and kindness shared with Bertie, especially in recent years. In lieu of flowers, please be charitable to a worthy cause.
