I have a full copy of Joshua P. Sands military pension records from the NARC. I know Joshua was the husband of Eunice "Lyon" Sands. My Great, Great Grand-Aunt. He served in Company D of the 23rd Wisconsin Infantry. He enrolled on August 14, 1862 and mustered out on July 4th, 1865 in Mobile Alabama. He was 5ft 8' tall, light complexion, brown hair and blue eyes.

I did check the online records for John P. Sands who's headstone is in this same cemetery. His enlistment and muster out dates are different and he is listed as serving in Co. H, 24th Wisconsin Infantry so, I'm wondering if John P Sands may be Joshua P. Sands are even related or if John's stone was placed in this cemetery by mistake. I will do my best to research this further. Any tips or additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Could Joshua P. Sands actually be listed on the same stone as Eunice but the lettering is unreadable? I'm going to fill in this listing under this assumption. If anyone knows differently please let me know. Thank you.
