Genevieve O. "Geneva" Wendler, 91, passed away April 13, 2023, at Good Samaritan in Olathe, Kan. She was born November 9, 1931, in Bazine, to Joseph & Clara (Werth) Stoecklein.

She married Anthony "Toney" Wendler August 8, 1949, in Ness City. He died March 3, 1981.

A longtime area resident, Geneva was a CNA for 35 years at Central Kansas Medical Center and at Great Bend Manor. She also worked in the Walmart Deli department for several years. She was known for her seamstress abilities. She enjoyed all sports and loved to follow her grandchildren around to their events. Genevieve especially loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include, her daughter, Lora Olivier and husband Bob of Gardner; two brothers, Earl Stoecklein and Tom Stoecklein, both of Ness City; five grandchildren, Angie Olivier Kramer (Michael), Trent Olivier (Kala), Alicia Wendler, Aaron Wendler (Jill) and Mark Wendler; a grandson in law, Jered Gorney; ten great grandchildren, Jeryn Gorney, Ian Gorney, Cade Olivier, Cole Olivier, Jeramie Kramer, Jordan Kramer, Joshua Kramer, Evan Wendler, Will Wendler, Jules Wendler and Dason Wendler; and two great great grandchildren, Jenavieve Kramer and Weston Kramer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Toney Wendler; her son and daughter in law, Alan and Marietta Wendler; a daughter, Susan Wendler; a granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Olivier Gorney; a brother, Lester Stoecklein; and five (sic, four) sisters, Lorene Roy, Lois Pfannenstiel, Thomasine Stoecklein and Sister Joyce Stoecklein.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with a Rosary held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 606 S School St., Ness City, Kan., with Father Pascal Klein presiding. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ness City.

Memorials have been designated to Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
