Stanley was born May 23, 1959, in Torrington, Wyoming, to Hoyt Sleeper Morgan and Wilma Lea Burlin Morgan.
He moved to Hamilton as a freshman in high school and graduated Hamilton High School in 1978. He was married to Diane Kreder on May 27, 1978, and they made their home in Hamilton. They had three children, Heather, Hoyt and John. Diane preceded him in death on May 25, 1997.
Stanley never met a stranger. He could talk for hours to anyone about anything. He worked many years for Lone Star Gas Co. He spent a lot of years with the City of Hamilton and could be seen walking all over town reading meters. He later worked for the City of McGregor.
He was very active with Boy Scouts and helped more than 20 scouts become Eagle Scouts over the years.
He was a long-time member of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department.
One of the things he was most proud of was being in the Army National Guard. He was with units out of Brownwood and Stephenville and retired after 21 years of service.
His hobbies were talking, model airplanes, anything relating to tanks or the military, and rooting for Tom Brady.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Burlin, wife Diane Morgan and son John Morgan
Survivors include his father Hoyt Sleeper Morgan, daughter Heather Hansard and husband Andy and son Hoyt Morgan, all of Hamilton; grandchildren Jaxon Hansard of Stephenville and Ashtyn Hansard, John Carter, MacKinsy Morgan, Violet Morgan and Scarlett Morgan, all of Hamilton; and brother Daniel Morgan and wife Arlene of Huntsville, Alabama.
