Elberta "Ilene" Fesler passed away Friday April 7, 2023 after a short illness, surrounded by loved ones. Ilene was born on Dec 7, 1939 in Spring Creek, Oklahoma (Gracemont) to Emmett Jackson and Edith (Anthony) Rasnic. She was the 4th of eight children.
She graduated from Gracemont High School in 1957 and soon moved to the Oklahoma City YWCA. She started working at the Oklahoma Health Department and soon met the love of her life, Terry Fesler. They married in the spring of 1960. In 1969 she went to work for the United States Postal Service, achieving an associates degree in Postal Management, ultimately ending her 30 year career as the Postmaster of Mustang, OK. After retiring, she loved collecting glassware, reading, and spending time in her flower garden, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Ilene is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years Terry Fesler, her loving daughters Shelly Alford (Terry) and Tamara Houk (Alan); her grandchildren Preston McWhirter (Nikita), Brandon Alford (Karis), Brittni Chaney (Wesley), Bill Bean (Alicia), Colin Edwards (Tamara), Tiffany Cooper, and Lacee Danker (Kegan); and her great-grandchildren also known as her little darlins no matter the age, Jacob and Abby McWhirter, Fynlei Alford, Raegan and Jace Chaney, Bryson Bean, Rylee and Korra Edwards, Brailynn Alford, Paislee and Oaklen Danker. She is also survived by her brothers Benny (Jean), Bill (Sandee) and her sisters Earline Davis, Mary Oliver (Doyle), and Marie Powell (Frank).
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Emmelene Eaton, her brother Jack Rasnic, and her grandson Tad Alford.
