Mrs. Wilson was born the daughter of Peter Thomas and Vernie Lambert Thomas on November 7, 1939, in Georgetown County.
She was born the oldest of five children, Roland, Wayne, Bobby Ray, and Ronnie.
Barbara started her Christian walk by giving her heart to Jesus at the aints Delight Pentecostal Holiness church. She raised her children and attended the Georgetown Church of God for fifty years. Later, she spent time worshiping God at the Six Mile Crossing Church of God and the Oakridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. As she and Stanley's steps became slower, they have been attending the Sampit Pentecostal Holiness Church. Every church attended during her Christian journey was God-ordained to provide what she needed at that stage of her life. Her heart was drawn to her beginning church to celebrate the end of her Christian walk. As a woman of God, she loved reading her Bible and teaching Sunday School and Children's Church. She enjoyed cooking and doing floral work. Her greatest pride was being a devoted wife, loving mother and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbara and Stanley were married on March 1, 1957, and celebrated 66 years together.
Their home was blessed with three children, Alfred Stanley "Al" Wilson, Jr. (Kathy), Darlene Annette Parker (Lee), and Robbie Dean Wilson (Denise); four grandchildren, Leslie Wilson, April Poston, Stan Wilson (Abby) and Lindsay Wilson (Wes); and five great-grandchildren, Pierce Poston, Trace Poston, Kerrigan, Rebekah, and Olivia.
She is also survived by two brothers, Wayne Thomas (Martha) and Ronnie Thomas; a sister-in-law, Lavinia Thomas; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; a granddaughter, Leslie; and two brothers, Roland Thomas and Bobby Ray Thomas (Ann).
A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8285 Saints Delight Road, Andrews. Officiating will be Rev. Stan Wilson and Rev. Eddy Knight. Interment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
