Amil Ross Leavitt, 79, of Afton, died October 1, 2005 in Idaho Falls. Graveside services took place October 8, 2005 at the Grover Cemetery.
Ross was born August 12, 1926 to Amil Dick and Lovina Jensen Leavitt. He grew up and attended schools in Grover and attended Star Valley High School.
On November 2, 1943 he married Evelyn Mae Wolfley in Idaho Falls. They were divorced in 1963. On August 12, 1965 he married Hazel Erickson in Pocatello.
Ross worked a variety of jobs in his lifetime. He was employed with the R.T. French potato company in Shelley. He owned and operated the R&H Laundromat and Grocery Store in Thayne. He also owned and operated a vending machine business called "Electronic Cowboy".
Ross enjoyed doing carpentry and spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing, camping and ATV riding as well. Ross Was known for his beautiful yard filled with flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; children, Rodney (Judy) Leavitt of Tennessee; Darlene (Ron) Mitchell, Idaho Falls; Debbie (Monte) Davis, Idaho Falls; daughter-in-law Danelle Leavitt of Oregon; Stepchildren, Eric (Vivian) Erickson of Texas; Kent (Polly) Erickson of Smoot; Linda (Doyle) Stoker of Jackson and Mark (Barbara) Erickson of Osmond; brother, Gary; sisters Carma Skinner, Aloha Bennet, Sharlene Booth; 28 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jake and Ralph; sister Wyoma Hale; son, Lyle R. Leavitt; and grandson Bryce Monte Davis.
Graveside services for Ross Leavitt will be held on Saturday Oct 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Grover Cemetery
