Roy Dean Burns, Sr., 69, of Wood Dale, IL, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Cook County, IL.

Born August 10, 1938, in Union County, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Samuel Burns, Sr. and Rachel Linda (Bolin) Burns and the husband of the late Rita Helen (Rutkowski) Burns.

Retired from Union Camp/Consolidated Packaging, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Sitmer of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Rhonda Paprocki of Macomb, MI; a son, Roy Dean Burns, Jr. of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Cluff Burns of Spartanburg, and R. S. Burns, Jr. of Pacolet Mills; a sister, Francis McGaha of Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was 2:00-2:45 PM Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Funeral services followed at 3:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
