A resident of Palm Beach, Florida for 30 years, he was an active member of Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach and served as chairman of the board of trustees, chairman of the board of directors, chairman of the board of ushers, secretary and treasurer and one of three members of the building committee responsible for the removal of the Old Chapel and moving it to its present location. He belonged to the Everglades Club, the Sailfish Club, Old Guard Society of Palm Beach, Elks and a life member of the New York Athletic Club.
