Mrs. Russell Ackley
Mrs. Kathryn Ackley, 67, died early this morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. V. M. Robinson, 310 South 13th Street . She was the widow of Russell Ackley.
Born at Rosendale, Mo., Mrs. Ackley had lived in St. Joseph for a time in her earlier life. She had been in California for the past 30 years, returning here from Hollywood a year and a half ago because of her health. For many years she had been a secretary for Los Angeles county.
In addition to Mrs. Robinson, the survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Wright, Kansas City; brother, Eugene Gardner, St. Joseph; three other sisters, Mrs. J. L. Edwards, Mrs. Gertrude Zimmerman, and Mrs. H. O. Howard, all of St. Joseph, and a grandson. She was the sister of the late Robert E. Gardner, Buchanan County assessor.
Mrs. Ackley was a member of the First Christian Church.
The body is at the Heaton-Bowman funeral home where services will be conducted Saturday, afternoon at 3. Dr. C. M. Chilton will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
