Virginia Ann Channell of Loveland died November 17, 2022 after 93
wonderful years.

"Ginny" was born August 22, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas to Earl Dewey and
Evelyn Harris Taylor. Ginny, an only child, grew up in numerous towns
throughout Kansas. While attending Hutchison High School and Junior
College, she played first base on the city's only women's softball team,
traveling throughout the state for games. She then attended Kansas State
University where she joined Tri Delta sorority. Before graduation she met her
soulmate, Glenn Channell. They married on August 13, 1950 and were
married for 53 years until Glenn's death in 2003. They had four children, 10
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The family moved to Littleton, CO in 1961 where Ginny taught P.E. at several
elementary schools. In 1970, the family moved to acreage southeast of
Loveland, CO, and built a home. In 1976, Ginny received a Master's Degree
in Special Education from UNC in Greeley, and then taught learning disabled
students in Loveland for a number of years.

Ginny enjoyed hosting holiday and family gatherings at her home, and tennis
matches on her tennis court. She loved helping others, donating her time,
tutoring students, and playing bridge. She had a sweet tooth for chocolate
and a smile that brightened the day. Ginny was a dedicated K-State
supporter, and was Glenn's copilot on many flying adventures. She will be
remembered as independent, kind, humble, fiercely loyal, and intelligent
(she was a whiz at puzzles and picking investment stocks).

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandsons Scott
Reed and Byron Taylor.

Ginny is survived by her sons Gregg Channell of Loveland (grandsons Travis,
Kyle, and Trent) and Steve (Sondra) Channell of Placitas, New Mexico
(grandchildren Taylor and Stephanie); her daughters Christy (Chauncey)
Taylor of Loveland (grandchildren Layne and Amy) and Wendy (Dave) Reed
of Longmont (granddaughter Michelle); and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at New Freedom Church, 250 Mountain Avenue, Berthoud, CO on January 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. A lunch will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Loveland or the charity of your choice.
