David C. Shaner Sr. 90, of McConnelsville passed away peacefully at 2:05 a.m. April 5, 2023 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born October 24, 1932 in Morgan County the son of the late, Elmer Shaner and Sylvia Roberts Shaner. He retired from Gould Inc. in 1993, was a farmer with a cow-calf operation, and a member of the Wolf Creek Church of Christ. He is survived by four sons, David (Candy) Shaner Jr. Of McConnelsville, Keith (Sharan) Shaner of Zanesville, Jeff (Sharon) Shaner of McConnelsville, and John (Debbie) Shaner of Brunswick Ga.; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; and step great grandchildren; sister, Lois Smith of Reynoldsburg; brother, Mark (Mary) Shaner of Glouster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Shaner who died Dec. 11, 2007; siblings, Audrey Steffey, Rose Smith, Pearl Pierce, Betty McCall, Laurence Shaner, Lowell Shaner and Ivan Shaner. Friends may call 6to 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville and one hour prior to services on Saturday, April 8, 2023 , which will be held at 11:00a.m., with Evangelist Kent Parks officiating. He will be laid to rest in Wolf Creek Cemetery beside his wife. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shrivers Hospice or to Wolf Creek Church of Christ.
