"Mrs. Mary Littrell, 87, a lifelong resident of Wheeling, died at 1:15 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Chillicothe hospital. Mrs. Littrell suffered a fracture to her hip six weeks ago. She had been a patient at the hospital the last 18 days.

Mrs. Littrell was born on Feb. 23, 1874, at Wheeling, the daughter of Josiah Whitebread and Martha Fenstermacher. She attended school at Wheeling. Mrs. Littrell united with the Wheeling Baptist Church in 1890. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge. On July 21, 1892, she was married to Wm. Virgil Littrell at Chillicothe. Mr. Littrell died on Oct. 23, 1944.

Survivors include two daughters, Miss Zula Littrell and Mrs. Viola Mae Wisehaupt, and a son, Leon Elwood Littrell, all of Wheeling; and five grandchildren, Max Littrell of Chillicothe, Bennie Littrell of Wheeling, Mrs. Howard Pickering of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Harold Dewey of Wheeling and Mrs. John Gossick of Independence.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Willis Littrell and Logan Littrell, who was the sexton for many years at the Wheeling cemetery; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist Church at Wheeling. The Rev. Walter S. Cox, pastor, will conduct the service. Burial will be made in the family lot at the Wheeling Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune (Chillicothe, Missouri), October 10, 1961
