Frances Stella McCarthy, 78, of Springfield died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1923, in Sangamon County, the daughter of Cornelius J. and Mary Theresa Link McCarthy.
Miss McCarthy was a housekeeper at Heritage Manor. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and St. Joseph's Guild.
Survivors: a sister, Louise Stengel of Springfield; a brother, William "Bill" McCarthy of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass: St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. Dan Nolan, CSV, officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
