Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St. with the Rev. Stan Cosby, pastor of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter St.
John Wesley Wiseman was born July 28, 1931, in Claude to William and Ethel Wiseman. He was in the U.S. Navy and worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T for 35 years. He was the co-owner of Amarillo Tech Services and Telephone Tech services. He also owned The Phone Line before retiring. Mr. Wiseman was a Boy Scout leader and belonged to the Telephone Pioneers and the Windmill Sams. He liked to travel and enjoyed talking old cars and coffee with the guys.
Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra Kay; a daughter, Karen Sue Wiseman Taylor; his mother, Ethel Massey; a brother, Frank Bradley; and a sister, Alene Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Martha Wiseman; a son, Wes Wiseman; a sister, Hazel Good; five grandsons, Dallas Dotts, Kevin and Tanner Wiseman, Colby Kitchens and Chance Taylor; two granddaughters, Aspen and Mandy Taylor; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Rusty.
The family suggests memorials be given to the American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
Viewing will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
