"Jakob" emigrated to America from Prussia in the early 1850's, as a young man. He married Christiana Grebe, also from Prussia, and settled in the Village of New Germany. There were three Blazers that were founders of the St. Jacobus Evangelical Church in 1853; Georg, George and Jakob. As Jakob settled here a few years later than Georg, they possibly are related. The elder George is George's father, acording to the 1850's US Census. Jakob doesn't show up until the 1860 US census, but is here by 1853 according to the church records. As George's family removed to Iowa in 1863, Jakob and his family remained here in the village; later renamed the Borough of Folsom.
Jakob was said to be a farmer in the 1880 census, and a Teamster in the Brickyard by 1900. Later, he was known as Jacob, Sr. The 1880 census states his age as 46, which would mean he was born about 1834. His parents were born in Prussia, but no record of them coming to this village.

Jakob and Christiana had three other known children.
1. Katerina b. Oct 11,1858
2. Christiana b. Aug 7,1866
3. William G. b. Dec.1876 d.1940 marr. Louisa Roller
