HENRY E. ALLWEIN - PASSED AWAY SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 4:30, AT AGE OF 67 YEARS - H. E. Allwein, one of the pioneer residents of Shelby, and one of the most widely known men in our community, passed away yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the family home on East Main street. He was familiarly known to his friends as "Davy".
Mr. Allwein had been living a retired life for several years but about one year ago was suffering from diabetes, It was necessary for him at that time to submit to an operation for the amputation of one of his feet and since that time he had been in poor health. He was confined to his home since that time and failed gradually until the end came. The immediate cause of death was apoplexy.
Henry E. Allwein was born February 12, 1859 in Lebanon, Pa., and was aged 67 years. He came to Shelby when a young man and remained here his entire life. He is survived by his wife and three children as follows; F. G. Allwein of Shelby. Mrs. Demas Stickle of Boonton, N.J., and Miss Alda Allwein of Cleveland. He is also survived by one brother Harry Allwein of Mathews, Ind.
The body will lie in state Tuesday from 2 to 5 o'clock and from 7 to 9 o'clock. The funeral will be private and will be held from the family home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. H. H. Tilock, pastor of the Church of Christ.
The body will be laid to rest in the Oakland cemetery.
