Bill Burkhart of Townsend TN departed this life into the arms of our Heavenly Father on March 26, 2023.
Bill was a devoted husband and father who loved hiking with family and friends in the Smoky Mountains.
He and wife Cheryl were volunteer backwoods rangers for many years in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
He was employed by V.L. Nicholson, Denark-Smith, Evans and Sequoia Construction to name a few. He and Cheryl were among the founding members of RIO Church and Bill was the lead supervisor during the construction of the Lamar Alexander location. He was always helping anyone in need and never expected anything in return. He had the kindest of hearts.

He is survived by his son, Billy Joe Burkhart (wife Melanie), three grandchildren, Georgia (Ben), Logan (Abigail), Haley (David), Bob, Steve and David Monday, Mary Pat Cox, great-grandchildren, extended grand and great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank Leah, Melissa, Keri, Katey, Brandon, Ben, Kristi and others from Quality Care for their endless hours of comfort, care, love and devotion they provided Bill through his months of need. We also want to thank Amy and the staff at Amedysis Hospice for their care and kindness during his last weeks of life. Special thanks to Rita Ballinger.
Receiving of friends will be determined at a later time. Preparations are being provided by Cremation by Grandview and we appreciate their help during this time.
