Mrs. Mary Bishop, 82, widow of Daniel "Dee" Bishop, passed away May 17, 2012 at the Marcum - Wallace Hospital in Irvine, KY following a short illness. She was born November 22, 1929, in Owsley County, KY, the daughter of the late Elisha & Dorothy Bowling Bowling. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mary is survived by two sons: Mr. Clinton Bishop & wife Midge of Ricetown, KY, & Mr. A. G. Bishop & wife Freda of Booneville, KY; two daughters: Mrs. Brenda Sizemore & husband Donald and Mrs. Linda Bowling & husband Paul all of Ricetown, KY, and six grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother: Mr. Paul Bowling of Middletown, OH and three sisters: Mrs. Sarah Goodman of Booneville, KY; Mrs. Lola Thomas of Jackson, KY and Mrs. Alice Tipton of California.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bishop were held Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 2:00 PM with visitation on Saturday evening from 6 to 9 PM, all at the Searcy & Strong Funeral Home, officiating the services was the Rev. Joe Rogers, with burial following in the Bishop Family Cemetery on Upper Wolf Creek in Owsley County, KY. The Searcy & Strong Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
