She was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Lone Wolf, Okla., to Robert Henry Ryan and the former Amanda Frances Suggs. At an early age her family moved to Mesa, Ariz., where she attended schools. She married Drury E. Wood, who was to be her lifelong mate, on May 29, 1945, in Mesa.
During her husband's military service, Mr. and Mrs. Wood lived in Georgia, Germany and Kentucky before settling in Olympia, Wash., in 1957. Later, they moved to Tenino, Wash., where they lived until about a year ago when they moved to Klamath Falls.
Mrs. Wood was an excellent cook and homemaker. She also loved animals. May 29 would have been her 50th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband Drury E. Wood, Klamath Falls, mother, Amanda Suggs Ryan (104 years old), Post Falls, Idaho; children, Pat Nelson, Tenino;, Polly and Larry Burnham, Dennis Wood, all of Klamath Falls; Debby Thomas, McKenna, Wash.; brothers J.W. Ryan, Taylor, Ariz., Merl Grahm, Post Falls; grandchildren, Teresa Nelson; Bob Nelson, both Tenino; Larry Burnham Jr., Klamath Falls; Jason and Shellie Burnham, Tenino; Ryan Burnham, Honolulu, Hawaii; Dustin Wood, McKenna; Joshua Reed; great-grandchildren, Ashlie Burnham, Klamath Falls, Briana Nelson, Tenino; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ryan; six sisters, and five brothers. Services will be held Thursday, January 12, 1995, 10 a.m. in Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, with Pastor Scott Hines, officiating. Burial will follow at a later time at Mt. Laki Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 7 p.m. this evening and from 9 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel. Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd in charge of arrangements.
