Vi Era Snipes, daughter of Mary Jane Wilson and James Harvey Snipes, married Ira M. Bryce, a Methodist minister, in 1892. They had at least seven children, including Mary, Ira, Beulah, Thomas, Dorothy and Christine. In 1900 the family lived in Houston, Texas. They later moved to Oklahoma and El Paso.
