Goldie was the daughter of Carl Spouse & Mary Elizabeth Halverstadt. Her father died young and mother Mary remarried Eugene McKinney. They had four children: Adeline, Chalmer, Lovina, and Charles McKinney. Goldie married Clarence Barney Cassel in Callaway, Nebraska. They lived in Custer until the dust storms drove them away to Oregon and finally California. They had two sons, Ralph and Russel. Goldie adored Siamese cats, was a professional baker, always made wonderful cakes and pies for the family.
