GREENSBORO — Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Watkins peacefully passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008, after a lengthy illness at Wake Forest Research Hospital in Winston Salem.

The funeral will be held 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Michael M. Nguyen will officiate. The burial will be held at Lake View Cemetery

A life long resident of Greensboro, Elizabeth was the daughter of Clyde and Roberta Harris. She was the sixth of eight children.

She attended St. Mary's Catholic School through eighth grade, graduated from Dudley High and attended Bennett College.

Elizabeth married her high school classmate, Jerry D. Watkins in 1960 and celebrated 47 years of marriage this past June. To this union two sons were born, Jerry Donald Jr. and Carl Brady Watkins.

Having a passionate love for preschool children, Elizabeth and Jerry built and operated Tot's Haven Nursery for 32 years.

Elizabeth, or "Bug" as she is fondly called by family and close friends, is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry and two loving sons, Don and Carl; two grandchildren, India and Megan; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Savanah, and Charity; one brother, Dr. John C. Harris; five sisters, Dorothy H. Williams (Shelton), Gwen H. White (John), Joyce Harris, Barbara Harris, and Lenora H. Toney; two brothers-in law, Marvin Watkins (Jamesena) and Marvin Starks and many loved nieces and nephews.

Family hour will begin at 12 noon.

Memorial may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Reduction Fund, 1414 Gorrell St., Greensboro, NC 27410.
