Ramona Montemayor

1943-2023

Ramona Montemayor, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023.

She was born on August 28, 1943, to Orville F. and Cleva M. (Simpson) Guthrie in St. Joseph, Missouri. Ramona was united in marriage to Frank Martin Montemayor, Sr. on June 10, 1990. He survives of the home.

Ramona worked as an office manager for the St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale, Arkansas for 10 years. She also worked at Mosaic Life Care in the business office for many years. Ramona spent several years working and volunteering for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She was president of the altar society for Our Lady of Guadalupe, and a member of the alumni committee for Benton High School's Class of 1961 since 2006.

She raised her family in Savannah, Missouri. Ramona was co-owner of Poirier Pharmacy, and a pillar of the community. She was very involved in her children's extracurricular activities throughout the years.

Ramona was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. She loved to talk, listen to music, and go dancing at the Eagle's Lodge. She was beloved by everyone that knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Cleva; brother, Bill Guthrie; and daughters, Jamee Cretal and Antoinette Meyer.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Montemayor, Sr.; daughter, Stacey Poirier; son, Frank Montemayor, Jr.; nephew, Tim Guthrie; niece, Sandi Bailey; grandchildren, Sarah Cretal, Max Cretal, William Cretal, Ryleigh Cretal, Nicole Crossley, Cody Crossley, Alexander Crossley, Molly Meyer, Cooper Meyer, Dylan Meyer, Mitch Montemayor and Alison Montemayor; and great-grandchildren, Jamie Crossley, Josiah Sauer, James Rowden and Kaysten Zarbano.

Mass of Christian Burial and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Friday, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Parish Rosary 5:30 P.M.
