Sarah Ann McCloud Robbins was the daughter of Samuel and Lucinda Kirby McCloud of Caldwell Co., NC. On December 26, 1878 she married Adolphus "Dolph" Robbins (1850-1927). The couple had four known children: Mary Lou Ellen (b. 1881), Martha C. (born 1882), James Wilburn (b. 1890), and Ada Isabell (b. 1892). The family lived in the upper Yadkin River Valley, known as Happy Valley, in Caldwell Co. until sometime after 1910 Dolph and Sarah relocated to a farm in Boydton in Mecklenburg Co., VA. Sarah died suddenly of an apparent heart attack at the age of 68.
