It is with great sorrow we announce that our sweet, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Carol Marie Abston, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023, at the age of 85, at Avamere Mountain Ridge Assisted Living in South Ogden.

She was born on February 21, 1938, in Logan, Utah, to her loving parents, Owen Eugene Allen and Enid Lillie Reese Allen.

Carol and her family moved to Ogden, Utah, from Preston, Idaho when she was 9 years old. She went to Ogden City Schools and as a proud Scot, graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She also attended Stevens-Henager College, to further her education.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a member of the Lorin Farr Stake 42nd/21st Ward, where she held many callings.

She was married to Robert Kent Abston, with whom she had three children, but was later divorced.

Many years later, she married Jay Chapman, and was later divorced.

Carol then found a loving companion in Robert Doyle Chamberlain. They were together for over 20 years. He will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her three children and their partners, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren who were the loves of her life. She adored spending time with them on holidays, and playing games, doing puzzles, singing, and telling stories. She had a unique, special bond with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They will always keep her love in their hearts and will never forget her. She is survived by her brother and sister. And many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she was very fond of.

Carol is preceded in death by her father, Owen Eugene Allen, her mother, Enid Lillie Reese Allen and her sister-in-law, Edith Elaine Stephenson Allen.

Carol had several jobs throughout her life. IRS in Ogden, Sperry Univac in Salt Lake City, after which she took a break from working to spend time in Dillon, Montana to help her parents at their motel. When she returned to Utah she took a job at Chromalox in Ogden. She then retired to spend time with her family.

Carol was a very compassionate and loving person who had a fun social personality which made it easy for her to make friends, and she had many. She mostly loved being with her family and enjoyed taking family vacations to Dillon, Montana and Yellowstone where they made many memories.

Carol's family would like to thank the many health professionals, aids, and staff at Avamere who took such great care of Miss Carol/Cutie Carol and grew to love her as she grew to love them. Special thanks go out to Johnny DelVecchio for his support and going above and beyond for too many reasons to list. The family sends their sincere and heartfelt gratitude.

Carol will be missed by many, will always be loved, and will never be forgotten.
