Dorothy "Dot" Ann Hagan, 91, passed away on March 17, 2023. She was born in Louisville, KY, on December 22nd, 1931. Dot resided at Miralea Masonic Home in St. Matthews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Hagan; parents Charles & Dorothy Medley; brothers, Roger, Dan, Leonard, Phil, and Michael; sisters, Jean Rausch, and Janet Zeillmann. She leaves behind her brother, Skip Medley; sisters, Kieran Smith, and Monica Epperson; children, Tom (Melba), Susan Hagan, Sandy Hagan, Glenn (Julee), and Karen Hagan; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A retired registered nurse, Dot graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing and the University of Louisville. She worked for Ford Motor, Jewish Hospital, Highlands Baptist, and U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. Dot devoted her life to serving the community and lobbied for the elderly and under priveledged. She enjoyed working as a state nursing home ombudsman. She volunteered for many organizations including St. Leonard Volleyball and the Louisville Hiking Club. Dot served as the first president of the Peterson Dumesnil House Foundation. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Mahjong Cards. All friends and family felt her genuine interest and support throughout their lives. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online to Kentucky Educational Television or Habitat for Humanity. Celebrations of her life will Saturday March 25, 1-4 p.m. at Romara Place Lyndon, KY 40222.
