Arlee Carolyn Reeder Laird, age 69, passed away on March 6, 2006 in San Diego, CA at the home of her son, Paul. Arlee passed on exactly as she wanted – peacefully and quietly, with her husband and son at her side.

Arlee came into this world on May 21, 1936, the only daughter of Irving B. Reeder and Mabel R. Hansen. From a very early age, she found learning to be her comfort. She enjoyed reading all types of books. She achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Utah State University, where she met and married her college sweetheart, Les. They were married on May 28, 1958 in the Logan Temple of the L.D.S. Church. Together they raised four children, Kevin Reed, Steven Reese, Leslee Ann (Greg Bowman), and Paul Anthony. Her son, Kevin, preceded her in death in May of 1974. Her grandchildren Zackery Steven, Skyler Steven, Carrisa Ann, and Jared Thomas brought her great joy and happiness. She also had two special grandchildren, Jordan and Napoleon, who watched over her in her final days in San Diego. She also has a special son, Cristian Javier Cinquini who provided great love and care for her in San Diego. She is also survived by her brother, Antone, her cousin Fae Casaly, and her special aunt, Betty Hansen. She is also survived by a special daughter, Marcelene.

Arlee found her greatest passion in exercise. She took great care of her body and her soul. Until she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she exercised nearly four hours a day, five or six days per week. She loved to shop and was a great bargain hunter. She was her son's best friend, and spent many hours conversing over politics, religion, or her favorite television program, The Young and the Restless. She was a teacher – both professionally and personally. She enjoyed imparting her wisdom and learning to others.
