William Earl Kays passed away Friday, February 29, 2008, at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lynn McIntire Kays; and his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Kays.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Fran Kays of Missouri; two nephews, Dewayne and Terry Kays; brother-in-law Jimmy McIntire; and three nieces, Megan, Morgan, and Mandy McIntire.
Bill was born February 17, 1940 in Eldon, Missouri.
He served as Airman 2nd Class in the United States Air Force before attending the University of Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1969, and later earned a Masters in Arts degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Bill and his wife Doris lived and worked in San Antonio since 1968 as educators and administrators in local school districts. Bill served as the Principal of Fox Run Elementary School before retiring.
For several years Bill played the role of Santa Claus at parties and schools for local children. Bill was a member of the Optimist Club, a proud Texas Ex, a fan of Longhorn football, a sports car enthusiast and a regular at Papa's Bar and Grill.
He will be missed but we know Bill is finally with his true love forever more.
