Interior Designer and Philanthropist. More commonly known as Anne, she was the eldest daughter of Ambassador John Sheldon Doud Eisenhower and the granddaughter of US President Dwight D. Eisenhower. She was a frequent guest at the White House during the administration of her grandfather. Anne attended the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and the New York School of Interior Design. She was presented at the International Debutante Ball at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in the city of New York in 1967. Eisenhower was married in 1968 to Fernando Enchavarria and resided in South America for seven years before returning to the United States, settling in the city of New York where she resided for the remainder of her life. She specialized in residential interior design and after employment on the design staff of New York designer Dorothy Draper, established her own design firm in 1981. Active in a number of charitable organizations, she served on the board of the Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education for twenty-five years and also served on the board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She was later married to Austrian investment banker Wolfgang Flöttl, who survived her, along with her only daughter, by her first marriage, and grandchildren.
