Amos was the son of Joseph Pfeaster and Clara Yearian.
Amos was single and boarding with his uncle, Sidney Yearian, in Prairie Township, Keokuk County, Iowa at the time of the 1930 census.
First marriage to Bertha Brown Smithart Aug. 4, 1934. Divorced 5 June 1935.
Second marriage to Doris Campbell Feb. 23, 1938.
Amos died of injuries received in a car train accident at South Amana, while on his way to work at Amana Refrigeration Plant. Amos had been a farmer living near Dewitt, Clinton Co.. at the time of his marriage to Doris. About three months after Amos' death, Doris married Francis Grover at Sigourney, Ia.
