Edwin W. Brown, 259 Andover St., died Feb. 17 at Lawrence General Hospital following a long illness. He was 78.
A native and lifetime resident of Ballardvale, Mr. Brown served as correspondent for the Lawrence Eagle Tribune in that part of Andover for 48 years. Until his retirement, he was employed as a clerk in the Wood Mill. He was a graduate of Cannon's Commercial College, Lawrence, the East Greenwich Rhode Island Academy and Burdett College of Boston.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred E. (Nickerson) Brown; three sons, Carl N. of Arlington, P. Byron of Lexington and Edwin R. of North Andover; two brothers, George of Andover and John of Amesbury; also six grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday at Lundgren Funeral Home. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.
