Charlie Kinney, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Andrews, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Monday, March 13, 2023 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Covington officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home.

Charlie was born on November 4, 1939 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to J. Lee Kinney and Etta Stofer Kinney.

He moved to Andrews at the age of 16 to pursue employment in the oilfield. He worked in the oil business until he retired at the age of 72.

He married Maxine Wolfe on August 1, 1960 in Andrews, Texas. They were married for 59 years until her passing in 2020.

Charlie was an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Laredo with his friends every year and going to Lake Thomas with Donny. He loved the time he spent at the lake with his family camping and skiing.

Charlie loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Lee and Etta Kinney, wife, Maxine Kinney, sister Bonnie Nell Harper, brother Virgil Kinney.

Charlie is survived by his daughters, Tammie Hernandez and husband, Donny of Andrews, Texas and Terri Sanders and husband Mark of Spring Branch, Texas, sisters, Marie Miller of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Hattie Johnson of Oak Grove, Louisiana, brothers, LeeRoy Kinney and wife Judy of Granbury, Texas and Kenneth Kinney of Phoenix, Arizona, 5 grandchildren: Brandi Ray, Stormie Sandhu, Joshua Hernandez, Tye Sanders, Kristina Alaniz and 7 great-grandchildren.
