Edwin Joseph Patrick Leary III of Treasure Island Florida passed away on March 11th of natural causes. Ed, known as Buzz to friends and family, was born in Minneapolis Minnesota and graduated from Roosevelt HS in 1953 with his twin sister Pat. Buzz served in the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate and rose to the rank of Petty Officer First Class. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and became a school teacher. Buzz eventually earned a PhD and became a professor of Art Education at the University of Minnesota before transitioning to the business world. Buzz spent the second half of his professional life as a marketing executive in the Art industry. Buzz loved to paint and share his abstract art with friends and family. An avid reader, he was known to read and reread novels by Steinbeck and Hemmingway, as well as books on World War II. A loving and dedicated father, Buzz was proceeded in death by his beloved daughter Kristin Carole Leary and is survived by his daughters Cheryl Jean Leary (Novack) and Jann Marie Leary and his son James Patrick Leary. He has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The service will be held at Royal Palm Cemetery in St Petersburg Fl. Donations in his name can be made to the Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg Florida.
