Mary Adelaide Ivill, 105, of Jefferson, formerly of Monongahela, died Saturday in Gary's Personal Care Home, Carmichaels. She was born in Manchester, England, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Pickford Hoskin. She was a homemaker, a resident of Greene County for the past 8 1/2 years, she resided in Monongahela for most of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Monongahela. She was a worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Castle Shannon. She was active in Republican politics. She was a past worthy high priest of the White Shrine of Monongahela, a past royal matron of the Amaranth of Dormont, a past officer of the Monongahela Mothers Club, and a past officer of the Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She worked with the American Red Cross for 75 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Adelaide) Guesman of Jefferson, two sons, William of Dormont, and Paul W of Bartow, Fla., three grandchildren, one great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J Ivill on Jan. 9, 1955, five brothers, David, Daniel, Glenn, Samuel and Kenneth Hoskin, and two sisters, Ethel Stephens and Martha Clark.
