Charlotte "Scootie" Scott Booker Tuggle, 90, born August 3, 1917, of Richmond, departed this life on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Camden, SC.

She was the widow of Richard Wilfred Tuggle, a former senior executive officer of the Universal Leaf Tobacco Company. She was the second daughter of John Anderson Booker and Jessie Mayland Crowe Booker, of Blackstone, VA. Born in Farmville, VA, she was raised in Blackstone and was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Mayland Booker Irby and her brothers, John Anderson Booker, Jr. and Richard Francis Booker.

She is survived by her daughter, Pattie Armstrong Tuggle Miller and her husband, W. Schuyler Miller, Jr., of Ashland, VA; her sons, Richard Wilfred (Will) Tuggle, Jr. and his fiancee, Patricia Harrison Cox of Marietta, GA and Edward Anderson (Ned) Tuggle of Camden, SC. She had three grandchildren, India Vass Tuggle, Edward Davis Tuggle, and Willa Duval Tuggle, all of Columbia, SC.

A graduate of Mary Washington College, she was a lifetime member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, where she served on the altar guild. She was a lifetime volunteer and served on the Board at Retreat Hospital. She was a member of Willow Oaks Country Club, The Woman's Club, the Tuckahoe Woman's Club, and the Richmond Women's Golf Association. She was a loving servant and friend to all who knew her. She was buried from The Church of the Good Shepherd, Richmond.

A graveside service was held at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at 2pm. The Very Rev. Sandra B. Kerner, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Blackstone, officiated. The family received friends at St. Luke's Episcopal Church Parish Hall following the service.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Joseph B. McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Blackstone, VA.
