He was employed by Carlex Glass America. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid collector of memorabilia and was a gun advocate. He was a woodworking hobbyist and an aficionado of miniature horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carey Edwin Best and Katy Pak Best; grandparents, Douglas and Violet Best.
Survivors: sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Larry Bailey; beloved nephews and nieces, Peter and Shanedra Bailey, Trevor and Shelby Bailey; great nephew, Liam Bailey; great nieces, Alleigh Brown, Lily Bailey; several cousins and good friends, Alex Robinson and James Moser.
Funeral 8 p.m. Monday, Biereley-Hale Chapel. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday, Big Toqua Cemetery with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard, V.F.W. Post 5156 and American Legion Post 106. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
