Marilynne Bergman, age 85, of Lincoln, entered into rest on March 1, 2023, in Wahoo. She

was born November 12, 1937, in Fremont, NE to Howard and Frances (Musiel) Brown.

Marilynne graduated from Wahoo High School and went on to Luther College, Wesleyan University and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bellevue University, later in life.

On June 1, 1957, Marilynne married Fritz Bergman at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. They remained together as husband and wife and best friends, for over 65 years.

Fritz and Marilynne made their first home in Ithaca, NE and later moved to a farm outside of town.

She began her career teaching grade school in Wann, Yutan, and St. Wencelsaus Catholic School. During her lifetime, Marilynne also worked as a bookkeeper and served as a farm mediator. Her help with the farm and hog operation was appreciated by Fritz.

In 1997, Marilynne and Fritz moved to Lincoln, NE where they currently reside.

She worked with the Nebraska Rural Development Commission, Nebraska Public Television and as a substitute teacher for Lincoln Public Schools near the end of her career.

She was also active in her Neighborhood Association, serving as Secretary for many years.

Marilynne's grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her special joy. She and Fritz loved traveling to their sporting and other extra-curricular events throughout the years. She loved having them come visit and enjoyed spending time with them. In recent years, she was a faithful cheerleader at the games and school programs of her great-grandchildren. They truly kindled a special light in her heart.

Marilynne is survived by her husband, Fritz Bergman of Lincoln; children Randy (Elaine) Bergman of Ithaca, Christine (Dale) VanAckeren of Lincoln, Jim (Rhonda) Bergman of Prague. Grandchildren Stephanie (Jeremy) Leonard, Tyler (Christine) Bergman, Emily (Joe) Wieczorek, Ben (Alicia) Samson, Meghan (Brandon) Hoegren, Alexander VanAckeren, Nicholas VanAckeren, Roxanne (Brandon Rezac) Bergman, Sophia (Omar Ruvalcaba) Bergman, Jackson Bergman; great-grandchildren Parker and Oliver Samson, Weston and Reese Leonard, Charlotte Hoegren, Brooks and Logan Bergman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Roxann Bergman; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 6, 2023, at North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Lincoln.

Visitation will be 4-7 pm Sunday, March 5th, at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home in Wahoo, followed by a Prayer Service at 7.

Interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo.
