Donald Edward Noble, age 93, of Shullsburg found peace on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Aqrace Hospice in Madison. Don was born on April 3, 1929, at home in Lamont, WI, the youngest son of Edward and Francis "Blanche" (Randall) Noble. He was united in marriage to Patricia Greenfield on November 23, 1950, at her parents' home in Darlington, and they enjoyed 72 loving years together.

Don is survived by his children Greg (Brooke) Noble of Marion, Iowa; Mike Noble of Cortland, Mississippi; Chris (Theresa) Noble of Blue River, Wisconsin; Eric (Ann Margret )Noble of Peoria, Arizona; adopted daughter Peggy Runke of Killdeer, North Dakota; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister- in-law Karen Fink, nieces and nephews, and special neighbors Ron, Jeanie and Amy Ubersox, and Pat and Jane Klieber.

Don was preceded in death by his loving wife Pat on January 6, 2023, and by his parents, his brothers Norman, John and Homer, and sister Ione King. He was also preceded in death by daughter -in- law Maria Noble and infant great granddaughter Trinity Rose Walker.

Don grew up on a farm in Lamont and after getting married, farmed at a few different places in the Darlington and Shullsburg area. He and Pat then moved to their current home in Shullsburg , and he worked at Kelly-Springfield for the next 25 years until his retirement. The farm boy in him never left as he continued to plant a huge beautiful garden each year until he reached the age of 92. He was known to many as the pumpkin man or the egg man. He was always busy doing something and found great satisfaction in working. He could often be seen on his 50 year old John Deere lawn tractor that he was determined to have last longer than him, and with his loving care, it did. He was also an accomplished woodworker, creating many useful projects along with the many beautiful crafts that he and Pat created over the years. He was a lifelong Packer fan and was proud that he was able to go to Lambeau Field twice. Don loved to play cards with his friends and his family, and he loved to bake for them. His tea biscuits and pecan pies will be missed. Last but not least, he was an avid storyteller. Anyone who knew Don, knew they were going to hear a story or two, or three. He loved talking to people, and even though many of us had heard the same story more than once, we will surely miss them now.

Special thanks to his wonderful neighbors, Agrace, granddaughter Autumn Noble, and especially his daughter- in- law Theresa, who saw him through his best and worst, holding his hand to the end. He loved you all.

Don had requested no services or visitation. Burial will be at the Union Grove Cemetery in the spring with a family graveside service for Don and Pat, followed by a celebration of their life.

For those who prefer, memorial donations can be made to Agrace or your favorite animal shelter in his name.
