CAUDILL - W. Neville M.D., 78, of Louisville, passed away in his sleep Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Highlands Nursing & Rehab Center. Dr. Caudill was born in 1933 in Boston, MA to Dr. Fred Weldon & Edna Frank Caudill. He graduated from Louisville Male High School in 1951. He attended the University of Louisville and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1955. While at the University of Louisville he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, served in student government, and sang in the barber shop quartet. In 1959 Dr. Caudill graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Caudill served nine years in the US Public Health Service before leaving to start his private practice in urology in Louisville. He retired from medicine after 40 years of medical practice. Upon retirement he divided his time between international travel to Egypt, Turkey, Russia, Germany and China and his love of archeology and gardening. Dr. Caudill had a true love of music and would not hesitate to perform for family and friends on the piano, dulcimer, or ukulele. Dr. Caudill was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Fred W. Caudill and Edna Frank Caudill; and his brother, Welden Caudill. He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Masterson Caudill; sister, Carole Birkhead (Ben); sister, Linda Roberts (Lynn); former wife, Eleanor McFarland Caudill; daughter, Cathy Caudill; daughter, Eleanor Josephson DVM (Bill); son, Fred Caudill M.D. (Elizabeth); son, William N. Caudill Jr. (Lora); son, Hendrix "Mac" Caudill (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Rus, Hank & Polly Whalen, Penelope & Marcellus Josephson, Caspar & Dominic Caudill, Allison, Samantha & Ellie Caudill; as well as his four legged companions, BJ and Danika. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dr. Caudill's name to The Baptist Hospital Foundation, 4007 Kresge Way, Louisville, KY 40207.
