Jack Rhodes Eppinger, 71, died in Jameson Memorial Hospital.

Parents: Gaylord Charles and Erla Francis Bingham Eppinger.

Wife: Thelma Mae Frazier, they married on Oct. 14, 1955. She died April 25, 2001.

He graduated in 1955 with the last graduating class of the former East Lawrence High School. He was a self-employed farmer and school bus contractor for the Wilmington Area School District. The bus contracting was started by his father, Gaylord, in the fall of 1939, with Jack taking charge of the business in the early 1970s. He was a member of Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, Mahoning New Castle Lodge 243 and the Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle. He loved camping and spending time with his family.

Relatives: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry W. and Nancy Eppinger of Pulaski, Donald H. and Deborah Eppinger of Plain Grove, and Dennis C. Eppinger and Randy R. Eppinger, both of Slippery Rock; a foster son, Roger C. Wagner of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
