At age six she moved with her family to Ironton, Ohio, where she attended schools and lived until she was 38 years old. She was married to Jesse Lee Skipworth on September 2, 1966, in Cattlesburg, Kentucky. They moved around from Lamar to Carson to Wetumka and back to Lamar in 1976, and enjoyed 35 years together before Jesse passed away on July 12, 2000. Imogene stayed in their home in Lamar for the next 13 years, until she moved to Holdenville in 2013. She worked at several occupations including CNA at various hospitals, waitress at various restaurants, cooking for Moss Schools and for Boy Scout Camp, and home care for the elderly. She attended the Lamar Pentecostal Church. What she loved most was taking care of the most important thing in her life, and that was her family that she loved dearly.
