Funeral Rites Held In New Orleans Funeral services for Mr. Albert Octave Levert, 72, were held from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Orleans Wednesday morning.
Burial was in the family plot in a New Orleans cemetery.
Mr. Levert died Monday at Touro infirmary in New Orleans after a short illness. A prominent Louisiana sugar planter and manager of the Levert-St. John sugar factory, near here, Mr. Levert came to this section when a young boy. He was a native of New Orleans.
He received his education at Mount St. Mary's College, Maine, and was engaged in sugar planting and manufacturing for the greatest part of his life at the Levert holding in St. Martin. Mr. Albert, as the populace here knew him, enjoyed a wide circle of friends in this section. He wasl oved for his kindness and cheerfulness.
Survivors include his widow, the former Miss Louise Gonsoulin; two daughters, Mrs. Lamartine V. La mar and Miss Sylvia Levert; four sisters, Mrs. Felix Larue, Mrs. F. J. Kearny, Mrs. John Allen Swanson and Mrs. Joseph Maybin Gore, and three brothers, J. Alfred Levert of Birmingham; Lawrence C. Levert of Reinzie Plantation near Thibodeaux; and Robert I Levert of New Orleans
