Would you allow me to suggest that Richard Thompson Archer was not the son of Mary Magdalene Chastain Cocke.
Mary Chastain and Col William Archer yes, perhaps, but not Mary Magdalene Chastaine Cocke. Mary M C Cocke was born before 1754, whereas http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=53032619 Mary Chastain Archer was born 1775 (I will offer a correction to that memorial)
I have it on good authority (the Cocke Farrar family Bible, 9V323) that, (page 298 Some Farrar Island Descendants, Alvanh Holmes, 1977) Mary Magdalene Chastain widow of James (Powell) Cocke, married, on 6.17.1754, Peter Farrar son of George Farrar Sr and Judith Jefferson. Mary or Marie Magdalene Chastaine was dau of Stephen Estienne and Martha (Dupuy) Chastaine.
Now there is a Cocke, Archer Farrar Chastain connection because on page 299 ibid, Peter Farrar acted as surety for the marriage of Chastain Cocke and Martha Field Archer in Amelia co, 4.11.1769.
Might I suggest that Richard Thompson Archer married Mary Chastain, and not Mary Magdalene Chastain Cocke, as Mary M.C.C was some 40 to 50 years the senior of Richard Thompson Archer.
